K.E.Y. Zone (Knowledge, Enrichment, and Youth Development) is a collaborative program of the Duluth Y and ISD 709 Community Education.  The locations of these high quality programs are at all 9 Duluth Public Elementary Schools, which provides services for grades K-5 year round including summer and school breaks.  

 

School Year Program

WHO

Program is open to students attending a Duluth Public Elementary School during the day.

WHEN

Program is open Monday through Friday from 2:15pm to 6:00pm, and on non-school days at select sites from 6:30am to 6:00pm.

WHERE

Program locations include Congdon Park, Homecroft, Lakewood, Laura MacArthur, Lester Park, Lowell, Myers-Wilkins, Piedmont, and Stowe Elementary School.

 

COST

K.E.Y. Zone offers two contract options, see  below for details.

Typical Day

A typical day at K.E.Y. Zone includes snack, physical fitness, homework help, brain time, club, enrichment opportunities, and choice time.

Contract Options

A $30 non-refunable fee will be charged per child at the time of registration.

Contract Option A allows your child to attend program five days per week for $176 per month. Contract Option B allows your child to attend program twelve days per month for $126 per month.

Non-School Days

Program will be open on non-school days at select sites from 6:30am - 6:00pm for an additional $39 per day. 

Registration

Program registration for fall will open in April, 2020. Site Coordinators will send out specific dates and times for your school.

Summer Program

WHO

Summer program is open to any students in the Duluth Area who have completed Kindergarten through 5th Grade.

WHEN

Summer program is open from June 15th until August 28th, Monday through Friday, from 6:30am to 6:00pm. It will be closed on July 3rd for the holiday.

WHERE

Summer program locations include Lowell, Lester Park, and Laura MacArthur Elementary School, and Ordean East Middle School.

COST

Summer K.E.Y. Zone costs $39 per day, per child.

Typical Day

A typical day at K.E.Y. Zone includes group games, gym time, service learning, field trips, arts and crafts, outdoor activites, and choice time.

K.E.Y. Zone Outdoors will be at each site once per week, where they will teach about shelter building, geocaching, the plants and animals, and more!

Registration

Program registration for summer opens March 2nd, 2020. There is a 20-day registration minimum. A $30 registration fee will be charged per child for families who did not participate in the school year program.
