LODGING & MEETING VENUES
CAMP MILLER RETREAT CENTER LODGING
If you are planning an overnight event, Camp Miller offers many lodging options from rustic cabins to fully equipped lodges.
Looking for a more rustic experience? Ask about our Pine Woods Cabins: 7 wooden cabins, each capable of sleeping 12-15. No bathrooms here! These cabins share a community shower house, and are located near the lake, sauna, and campfire circle. Also check out Maple cabin located amongst our Lakeshore Cabins. Maple sleeps 10-11, utilizes nearby Jack McLeod Lodge for bathrooms, and even has a small firepit just outside the door.
If comfort is what you had in mind, ask about Hanson Lodge, Garber Lodge, the Oaks Lodge, or Jack McLeod Leadership Lodge. Hanson Lodge offers 8 dorm-style rooms capable of sleeping 4-5 and shared center bathrooms within the lodge itself. Garber Lodge has four bunk rooms, sleeping 16 total, with shared bathrooms. Jack McLeod offers two cabin-type sleeping areas, each capable of sleeping 12, and each with their own bathroom and shower areas. The Oaks Lodge offers two cabin-type sleeping areas, each capable of sleeping 12, and each with their own bathroom and shower areas as well.
Finally take a look at the newly remodeled Bent Twig! No bathroom here but it is close-by Pine Palace Bathhouse. It's beautiful interior and full-sized bed is great for couples and families.
CAMP MILLER MEETING AREAS
At Camp Miller, we offer many areas of camp that would be great for a meeting, lecture, or small group discussion. From large to small, indoors to outdoors, you're sure to find the area that best fits your needs!
For large meeting options, Mitchell Hall, which also houses our dining area, can seat about 200 for large group meetings. The Jack McLeod Leadership Lodge has a small conference room that can seat 45. McLeod on the Lake gives you a rustic atmosphere in a beautiful room that can seat 100.
For smaller groups the center area of Hanson Lodge can seat about 25. Sky Chair City, an outdoor circle of a dozen Sky Chairs around a campfire, allows for an intimate, unique meeting area for a small group. Groups also have the option of using the Camp Miller field for team building games!
Have other needs? Contact us and let us know what you need and we will accommodate you as best we can!
QUILTING BY THE LAKE
October 9th – 13th, 2019
Fall is closer than we think. Time to plan some projects for the fall quilt retreat. Get a head start on those Christmas gifts!
The supply list for this year’s retreat can be found here!
There will also offer a short class on Borders and Bindings. Bring projects you have put off finishing. We will concentrate on machine techniques, but also talk about how to hand finish the binding and demonstrate some tricks for cutting the continuous bias binding – some projects really need this. These projects use basic quilting skills so can be accomplished by beginners. Quilt retreat is a fun time to build skills and make new quilting friends, and yes – get some projects done.
You can come Wednesday-Sunday or register for fewer days. Brunch and supper are provided except for Wednesday (supper only) and Sunday (brunch only). Show and tell is Saturday night: this is a fun time to share projects and win a prize.
Registration opens May 15th!
Contact Sandy Carlson if you have questions (email@example.com).
