Join us in celebrating Jeff Palmer’s life. Jeff was a long time steward of Camp Miller and the Duluth YMCA. Jeff started his career in Youth Programs including Youth in Government & Day Camp Kitchigami. He then moved onto become the Executive Director of Camp Miller and then to Associate Director in 1989. Shortly after that, he became the Executive Director of the Duluth Y until 2011, when he retired. The Y Service Club, Mentor Duluth Collaboration, School Age Child Care in the Schools and True North AmeriCorps all came to fruition under his tenure. The 2010 Capital Campaign and Facility Renovations you see in the Downtown Branch today, were all because of Jeff’s vision and leadership. In 2016, the Y dedicated and opened to the public the “Jeff Palmer Museum in Culver Cabin” which houses the historical documents, photos and memorabilia from Camp Miller’s 120 year history.

He is missed by those of us who were lucky to work with Jeff every day. Jeff was dedicated to the Y, its members & staff and its mission. He was a kind, honest and humble leader who has been greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Duluth, MN. Coffee and fellowship to follow service. The family suggests that donations be made to the Karen Kjolhaug Campship Endowment Fund and Ty Taylor Campship Endowment Fund, Duluth Area Family YMCA, 302 West 1st Street, Duluth, MN, 55802.
