Is there a teen in your life looking to get involved at camp and become a leader this summer? Check out our Leaders-In-Training and Counselors-In-Training programs! This summer, LITs and CITs have the opportunity to submit an essay on leadership at camp for a chance to win a free session to their program.

We’re please to be able to be able to offer two individual scholarships for campers specifically interested in our teen leadership program! Like last year we will be awarding these scholarships based on essays entered into our 2019 Teen Leadership Essay Contest.

Essay Contest Prompt & Details:

In no more than 500 words define what attributes makes a good leader and why you want you develop your own leadership skills. All entries should be emailed to campmiller@duluthymca.org with “Teen Essay Contest” in the subject line. Deadline for entries is midnight May 1, 2019.

About the Programs:

The Leader-In-Training and Counselor-In-Training programs are designed for teenage campers interested in developing leadership skills that will help them become leaders at camp, in their communities back home, and in future careers down the road. Our Leader-In-Training programs last two weeks. Our Counselor-In -Training programs last three weeks with multiple sessions for both to choose from. We highly recommend campers first participate in the Leader-inTraining Program before the Counselor-in-Training program as there are lessons and skills that build on previous experiences.

Happy writing and email campmiller@duluthymca.org if after looking everything over you have any questions.
