The focus of the Y gymnastics program is to create a fun environment for gaining balance, coordination, and flexibility while introducing children to the basic elements of the sport. We use beam, bars, floor, and tumble track exercises to teach basic gymnastic positions and tumbling skills.
An all-ages sport, pickleball combines tennis, badminton, and ping-pong into an exciting, low-impact activity the whole family can enjoy! Nets, paddles, and balls are provided at the Membership Service Desk Y at the Cook County YMCA facility.
The Y youth soccer program is designed to meet each player at their current level of play and provide opportunities to increase their individual skills. The goal is that these opportunities lead to an overall enjoyment of the game through practice and games.
Tennis classes and camps are fun, engaging programs to teach the fundamentals of tennis including; Hand-Eye Coordination, Back and Forehand Strokes, simple games , cooperative activities, basic rules, and care of equipment. Throughout the program Children will also begin to learn: basic rules of the game, to keep score, make shot decisions, basics of doubles and continue developing sportsmanship.
