Teen leadership programs build confidence and teach skills for teens to become leaders and role models at camp, in school and throughout their community.

Adventure Team - Entering 8th Grade

Adventure Team is your first stop to all our Teen Programs at Camp Miller. This program has a special emphasis on outdoor adventure and learning wilderness trip skills. Campers learn tripping skills for canoeing and backpacking trips and take some off-site adventure trips including mountain biking on Mission Creek Trails, hiking at Ely’s Peak, and taking a campout trip down Willow River. This program also includes a day of Whitewater Rafting on the St. Louis River with Swiftwater Adventures.

Take Your Choice - Entering 8-9th Grade

NEW in 2020!

Take your Choice is a teen program offered during our shorter weeks of camp in Session 2 and Session 9. This program is all about your choice! Campers will have the ability to meet as a group each day and decide their customized schedule for the mornings and afternoons. This group will enjoy evening activities designed for teens.

Navigators - Entering 9th Grade

Navigators is our introduction to service-focused programming that gives teens an opportunity to be a leader in their community. Their week at camp includes the camp activities they love and group challenges to accomplish together. Service projects designed by the campers are also part of their week at camp, as well as exploring the UN Sustainable Development Goals for the future. Campers will also participate in an off-site trip to Jay Cooke State Park where they will work together as a team to set up camp, cook meals, plan their day and build lifelong friendships.

Servant Leadership Internship (SLI) - 17-year-olds and up

NEW in 2020!

Workplaces and colleges are needing leaders skilled in 21st-century leadership skills. This internship program will focus on serving to lead. This program begins in February 2020 with monthly Leaders Club meetings to teach servant leadership curriculum skills including communication, collaboration, innovation, critical thinking, self-management, resilience, and optimism. We will teach camp counseling skills, but also more broad topics beneficial for youth in their later high school years such as community service, college visits or trade school visits, resume writing and interviewing.
