What is the 1898 Club? The 1898 Club is the Duluth Area Family YMCA’s core team of committed donors who choose to make a monthly, charitable gift to Camp Miller.  

Members of the 1898 Club understand that their gifts are so much more than a transaction - they're life changing. Camping allows kids to grow, to build self-confidence, and to become leaders.

Become part of the 1898 Club: We want you to give to the Y in the way that makes the most sense to you and is the most convenient to your giving needs. Monthly giving allows you to budget your donation and will enable us to better plan our programs and services more effectively.

  • Your monthly gift to YMCA Camp Miller allows children to push boundaries and put themselves into situations they may not normally have the opportunity to experience without the support of people like you getting them there. 

  • All funds raised through the 1898 Club will go directly towards ensuring children get to experience camp. Monthly giving allows us to avoid the peaks and valleys of donations, ensuring that we can provide the number of scholarships necessary during our camp season. 

  • Simply put, your monthly gift sustains our mission-driven work. The 1898 Club supports the day-to-day work of our mission and demonstrates a lasting investment in our campers' experience now-- and the next 125 years at YMCA Camp Miller.   

What amount am I expected to give?

It doesn't take a lot to make a difference, but it starts with one small movement toward something greater. 

To become a member of the 1898 Club, we are asking that you pledge $18.98 a month, or make a yearly pledge in the amount of $227.76. 

To become a cabin sponsor at Camp Miller, a pledge of $84 or more a month is required.

Upon receipt of your pledge or email, we will call you to confirm your giving level and billing method.

1898 Club are ongoing and will continue yearly until you direct us to stop or alter your giving schedule.

BENEFITS OF BEING PART OF SOMETHING MORE

Besides the satisfaction of knowing you are helping to give the experience of camp, we also want to recognize our 1898 Club members as key contributors to our mission.  As such, you will receive periodical updates on the impact your gift is having in our community and will be invited to participate in volunteer opportunities and events that showcase your gift in action. 

As tokens of our gratitude, the following are also available at various giving levels:

  • Any member who joins the 1898 Club will receive their very own Yeti Camp Miller tumbler. 
  • All donations over $1,000 ($84/month or more) qualify for our Cabin Sponsor Program and will receive recognition on a cabin for each year that continued level of giving is received.
